Did you know that the famous "Poppy the Pop Star" is now a Peregian local??  We are so lucky that a local family took her in.  Thanks to the wonderful Davies family!

A little bit about Poppy if you haven't heard about her:

"Hi, my name is Poppy and I am Fiji's most famous dog. I had my nose and ears chopped off and almost starved to death, but I was saved. I now have a brand new nose and the best life in the world in Queensland, Australia.

I was born somewhere in Fiji. I don't remember where but there were lots of other dogs and we went hunting together.

My nose was chopped off, I was scared and in a lot of pain. I could not eat and I got very, very hungry and I thought I was going to die. Then the people at Animals Fiji found me. They are lovely. They gave me lots to eat, and looked after me. When I was feeling better some friends from Australia came and fetched me and that was when my amazing new life began.

I got a new nose in Australia, and a new family who love me. Now I am safe and happy and have the best life in the world. I’d like you to be my Facebook friend so that I can tell you about what I am doing, and help all the little friends I left behind in Fiji.  https://www.facebook.com/poppypopstarfiji/info?tab=page_info

There are so many sad and hungry animals there. Some have horrible injuries and no one to help them. I only hope they will be as lucky as me. You can help them by supporting Animals Fiji http://www.animalsfiji.com/".

The Davies family knew Poppy in Fiji before Poppy was transferred to Australia when they use to visit there.  India Davies raised $3000FJD for Poppy by selling all of her toys and cupcakes to help with her rebilitation.
